Introduction to the Dictionary

KB14370

In order to fully customise the site to your requirements you have access to your own dictionary of keywords used throughout your site and the administration area.

Every word or phrase visible to your web user in over 20 different languages can be updated and customised through the administration system. English, Arabic, Chinese, Croation, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Hindi can all be added to your website.

Controlling the words used in your site allows gives you the greatest customisation possible. Listings, Categories, News, Events, Web Pages, E-Commerce all have words and phrases the system uses which can be updated and changed.

All the words and phrases can be searched and are categorised for easy location. If you are running a multiple language site clicking the flags displayed gives you the alternate language.

Flag icons will be shown on the website so that users can easily switch to their preferred language.

Some examples

The main general title should be something you list such as: Boats, planes, cars, stamps, property etc...etc... so wherever you see Listings change for what your going to list.

Examples for listing - main heading:

Dictionary entry "Similar Products" can be changed to "Similar Property" if you were going to property.
Dictionary entry "Product Details" can be changed to "Property Details" if you were going to list property.
Dictionary entry "No products found!" can be changed to "No property found!" if you were going to list property.

Examples of categories (Categories) that group the listings (My Products) together

In order for your web users to find your listings then we group them in categories.
We can already add and update categories names so we might want to not change the category dictionary entries. There are instances where we have a listing name and category name.
Dictionary entry "Product was removed from Category. " can be changed to "Property was removed from Category" if you were going to list boats.

You would name your categories different types of property if your listings were property such as appartements, villas, houses etc.

Click here for more help on categories.

Examples for viewing the details of a listing:

Dictionary entry "Code" can be changed to "Property Reference No." if you were going to list property.
Dictionary entry "Search 1" can be changed to "Property Area (m2)" if you were going to list property.
Dictionary entry "Search 2" can be changed to "Number of rooms" if you were going to list property.

Examples for details of type of listing

Dictionary entry "Type" can be changed to "Location" if you were going to list property.

You would name your type entries locations/counties/states or city names so then your web users can then filter by property location.
