Offline ordering is an order that does not use an automated payment gateway such as Paypal - no money is transferred.
Offline payments are payments made without using a 3rd party payment gateway.
Examples of offline payments:
- Payment by cheque
- Payment by cash in store
- Standing order
- Bank transfer
There is no limit to the amount of offline payment choices you can offer to your customers. On checkout the customer can choose from payment by cheque, payment by standing order etc...
If an administrator is adding orders using the administration area then there are some further options presented on the Edit Payment Gateway page
For Administrator Only
If adding orders via the administration area this selected payment method / gateway will be visible if checked. If ordering via the website the payment gateway will be hidden.
Balance Paid
If checked then the balance will be automatically set to paid in full. If not checked then the administrator will manually need to add the balance paid.
